Solar SurveysSolar Surveys use state of the art equipment to predict the output of a solar energy installation, that will produce either electricity or hot water in a given location. This forms the basis for a cost-benefit analysis and the calculation of possible returns on investment. Our Fees are charged by the day or can be on a fixed price (subject to terms and conditions). The Survey ProcessWe use the state of the art Solar Pathfinder equipment to calculate the amount of sun and shade a specific location can expect to receive over a whole year. The Solar Pathfinder can be used at any time of day (during daylight) and at any time of the year. It does not require clear sunlight, and works equally as well on sunny and cloudy days. It does not need to collect data over a period of time. Of course, we cannot predict the weather for next year. We believe we can provide the a scientific and accurate prediction of the amount of solar energy available at a given location.
The Survey ResultsWe process the survey results using the Solar Pathfinder's associated Solar Assistant software, to produce a whole-year prediction of the amount of solar energy available. We can also predict the amount of hot water required by a building based on information provided by the client. From this, we can recommend the optimum system to be installed, it’s location and orientation if Solar Panels are the solution. We calculate the projected costs of the installation, and the amount of electricity or hot water it will produce. For electricity, we can calculate the amount that will be used based on information provided by the client to existing and an indication of the amount that could be sold back to the grid at times of building low occupancy. From this we produce a cost-benefit analysis and calculate the projects return on investment. We give our clients a detailed report of the survey results, and take the time to make sure it is clear, concise and easy to understand. |
